The Mayor’s Thames Festival Sep 15 2007
British newspaper Evening Standard calls The Mayor’s Thames Festival
“London’s biggest end-of-summer party”. And truly, the event is something grand,
with lots of activities offered within two days, September 15th and
16th. Launched in 1997, this year the festival celebrates its
10th anniversary. Thames Festival invites you to enjoy lots of shows,
from beautiful illuminations, pyrotechnics and river events to streets theatre
and live music performances. All the activities are centred along the south bank
of the Thames river. The highlights for Saturday are: Stirring the Waters -
London Afloat, Photo Competition and River Tango whereas on Sunday you can visit
Illuminated Night Carnival, Children and Adults Sing for Water performances,
Fireworks and much more. Also visit music performances on Silk Road Stage, Green
Man Stage and some other places. Admission to all the activities is
free.
