National Children’s Book Week Oct 1 2007
Every grown-up is aware of the importance of
reading. In order to encourage your children to read more and promote the fun
one can get from reading good books, there is a National Children’s Book Week
organised in London 1st – 7th October in coordination with
the Booktrust. The main theme for this year is environment, and the choice of
literature complies with this topic. Among the events your children can enjoy
within the week there are: Boori Monty Pryor 1st October at the
Unicorn Theatre (as part of Children’s Bookshow literature), school workshops
run by experienced writers, Children’s Poetry Bookshelf Competition 2007 as part
of National Poetry Day (4th October) and National Bookstart Day at
London Zoo (this year’s theme is “Jungle Party”). The event is recommended for
children of 4 years and upwards. Also don’t miss the Appledore Book Festival
which starts 29th September at the Appledore
village.
