“War Horse” at the National Theatre Oct 10 2007
Your children will be greatly touched by this emotional production
at the National Theatre: Cottesloe Theatre, called “War Horse”. This is the
adaptation of a novel by children’s laureate Michael Morpurgo, which tells the
story of heroism and affection. In the times of the First World War, Joey,
Albert’s beloved horse is taken to France to participate in the hostilities. By
fate the horse is caught up in enemy fire and taken to a no man’s land. Still
the Joey’s former owner, who is too young to enlist, cannot forget his friend.
That is why he embarks on a mission to find Joey. The story is a classic, full
of emotional scenes and heroic ideas. The production is directed by Marianne
Elliott and Tom Morris and features life-size puppets by the Handspring Puppet
Company. The “War Horse” is available till 12th January 2008 and suitable for
children of 12 and above.
