Bolshoi Opera & Ballet in London

Bolshoi Opera & Ballet theater from Russia has gained world fame. Now it gives performances on a tour in London Royal Opera House. The first shows visitors will witness are The Fiery Angel and (25 and 26 July 206) and Boris Godunov (27-29 July). The Fiery Angel is an outstanding interpretation of Prokofiev’s opera. The plot concentrates around Renata’s search for her mystical Fiery Angel. Some critics consider this performance one of the greatest success in the history of Bolshoi theater. The next opera in repertoire is “Boris Godunov”. The story of the Russian tsar Boris and tsarevitch Dmitrii (or false-Dmitrii) has given rise to many legends. One of them became the plot for the opera of Musorgsky’s in Rimsky-Korsakov’s interpretation. This opera was presented for the first time in 1888 time and since that has an imperishable popularity. The story was based on the work by the famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and was the first “public opera” in Russia.
