Beginning of the new football season

Weekend 19-20 August 2006 is the time when the English championship starts again. London can boast two successful football clubs – Arsenal and Chelsea who play their first matches at home. Arsenal will meet Aston Villa on 19th August and Chelsea will play with Manchester City on Sunday, 20th August. Last season these clubs can call almost triumphal – Chelsea became the champion of Premier league and Arsenal became vice-champion of the Champion’s League. This year they will try to prove their high status and serious ambitions. Chelsea is moving to the title of the club with the most expensive players in the world. This summer its governing body achieved an agreement with such football stars as Michael Ballock from Bayern Munich and Andriy Shevchenko from Milan. This however meant that some other Chelsea stars lost their place in the team. Last news confirm that Hernan Crespo joins Inter Milan on a two year loan, but a clause in the deal allows Chelsea to call him back after one year if they need him
