» Bike Week Date: jun 17 2006 London often becomes a home for significant sport events. The week from 17 till 25 June 2006 promises to be very interesting for bike fans. Bike Week has a long history; it was organized for the first time in distant in 1923. Now Bike Week is an annual celebration of cycling, with free events held throughout London. The action is funded by Cycling England and Transport for London’s Good Going campaign, and receives a lot of support from the cycle industry. There are promised to be more than 250 cycling events in London, and the most of them will be free of charge. The major show during Bike Week will be the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton ride on 18 June. There are expected 27 000 entrants. The other interesting event is York Cycle Show plus CTC National Rally on 24/25 June where possibly 12,000 cyclists will participate. The culmination of the week comes on Sunday, 25 June. The day will begin with Basic Bike Maintenance class and helmet and clothing checks and Fun race for kinds under 8 years old. The Great Slow race will start at 2.30 pm. All participants will be gifted with presents and the most successful could win a bike. |

» London Fashion Week 2007 Date: feb 11 2007 Milan and Paris are not the only leaders in world fashion. London is also known for its creative ideas and many world recognized designers such as Matthew Williamson, John Galliano, Julian MacDonald, Bora Aksu and Alexander McQueen. A good proof for this is the London Fashion week that attracts no less than 4,500 visitors as well as international press, buyers and fashion specialists every year. Organised by the British Fashion Council at the Natural History Museum, it consists of two parts: The Exhibition which is opened February, 12th – 15th and Catwalk Shows, 11th –16th February 2007. The first offers you discover new and already recognized fashion design talents while the second will impress you with designer collections, style and glamour. All in all, there are up to 49 catwalks showing the Autumn/Winter 2007 collections. Online registration is available at the Fashion week official site.

The event welcomes visitors 18 November 2007 at the 20th Century Theatre on Westbourne Grove. If you care not only about your health and beauty, but also about ecology, for you the fair has a lot to offer. 30 exhibitors will provide you with eco friendly and ethical products, such as recycled designer fashion and furnishings, wine and food, organic skin care and baby wear and other products. What is special about this event is that the total sum of the entrance fee (which is only £2) will go to The Cambodia Trust - a charity dedicated to aiding mobility and equal rights of landmine and polio victims. The list of exhibitors includes Tam and Rob, Nixie Clothing, Bags of Change, Harland’s Organic Furnishings, The Blue Yonder- responsible travel- Monastic Calendar and many others.
