Harrow is a north-west London borough built around two
distinct centres: Harrow Town itself — a commercial high street with
the traditional shopping district around St Ann’s — and
Harrow-on-the-Hill, a quieter village on high ground famous for Harrow
School. Rayners Lane, Pinner and South Harrow make up the residential
surroundings.
The area is a value option for visitors who want a full night’s sleep
away from central traffic and still reach the centre in reasonable time.
Rayners Lane tube (Piccadilly and Metropolitan) is 25 minutes to King’s
Cross and 30 to the West End; Harrow-on-the-Hill (Metropolitan) reaches
Baker Street in 15–20 minutes. Heathrow is a direct Piccadilly line ride
or 15–25 minutes by car via the A312.
Accommodation is mostly chain-hotel stock — Hampton Inn, Holiday
Inn and Travelodge sit around Rayners Lane and the A40 corridor —
oriented at business travel and connections to the airport. Rates are
substantially below Zone 1 at equivalent standards. Below are 4
